Tim Burton exhibit at the MOMA = my heart swelling to the point of bursting inside my chest with excitement! The exhibit starts this Sunday Nov. 22. and goes until April 26th 2010. For the show, curators Jenny He and Ron Magliozzi raided Burton’s curiosity cabinets for more than 500 photographs, paintings, doodles, storyboards, stories, sculptures, and sketches dating back to his student years at the California Institute of the Arts. Many have nothing to do with the films he’s directed. Some are on canvas, many on notebook paper. Quite a few are on cocktail napkins. “Sometimes these things look like they’re just weird,” Burton says, “but I don’t keep a journal or a diary. They help me to remember a certain feeling—they become time capsules.”(NYMag).
If I wasn't already excited about this exhibit Harpers Bazaar went ahead and did a shoot with photographer Tim Walker titled "Tim Burtons Magical Fashion." Here are the photos:

So a couple of weeks ago I went to see an amazing performance done by no other than the Citizens Band. Who as Paper Mag describes them "are the contemporary New York equivalent of a merry roving band of Victorian gypsy vaudevillians, if Victorian gypsy vaudevillians were political activists who fought against war and in favor of universal health care."
Not only were the costumes absolutely amazing, and the cast star studded with people such as Karen Elson, Sarah Sophie Flicker, and Zoey Deschanel but the performance was like nothing I have ever seen. The play was called "A Debt Rattle" which takes place during the 1920s and is a dance off between the characters for a place to stay for the night. Each actor took turns telling his or her story with their performance, there were even some acrobatics involved! If you want to check them out some more I posted the link to their website below the photographs. If you are ever given the chance they are definitely worth seeing!
