Although Russian/folk is a trend right now (I dislike "trendy" pieces minus the occasional forever21 impulse buy), I can't help but fall in love with it. The rich colors, amazing patterns and a feeling that a memory is wrapped up in every seam makes you want to participate. It also makes me think of my childhood and all the fantastic illustration books that I flipped through eagerly. The pen and ink drawings were so intricate and had this sophisticated yet raw feeling about them. My favorite was a used Cinderella book I got from the main library book sale. The drawings were so fantastical that it made me into the dreamer I am today.
